Leaves covered with coarse multicellular hairs and glandular hairs, a few fine silky ones sometimes present, narrow-oblanceolate, up to 13 cm long and 13 mm wide. Partial heads with 7–12 florets. Cypselas 1.5–2.5 mm long. Pappus up to 6 mm long. Herb up to 50 cm high. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands. Fl. spring–summer Craspedia variabilis
