Erect, rather large shrub with slender branches. Stems with loose reddish bark. Leaves linear-oblong, 15–40 mm long, 2–5 mm wide, villous underneath, margins recurved. Flowers sessile within clusters of leaves. Sepals 4–6 mm long. Petals 7–9 mm long. Carpels glabrous or sparsely hairy. Coastal heath and swamps. Not common. North from Royal National Park. Fl. spring–summer
