Erect to procumbent shrubs up to 1 m high. Leaves simple, flat or concave, alternate, entire. Stipules absent or minute, free. Flowers yellow to orange with darker centre, arranged in terminal heads surrounded by leaves with enlarged bases. Bracts sometimes 3-lobed. Bracteoles small, attached to the pedicel below the flower. Standard orbicular to very broad-elliptic. Stamens free. Style hooked near the tip. Ovules 2. Legumes ovate, small. Fl. spring–summer.
