Shrub up to 6m high, Leaves elliptic to obovate, 3–7 cm long, toothed, petiolate, ± viscid. Heads in clusters on axillary and terminal peduncles, functionally unisexual. Involucre 3–5 mm diam.; bracts scarious or slightly herbaceous. Ray florets absent. Disc florets yellowish. Cypselas up to 2 mm long, glabrous. Pappus white, 10–12 mm long on the fruit. Wollongong. Swamps near the sea. Introd. from N. America. Fl. spring–summer. Groundsel Bush
