Leaves cauline, linear to oblanceolate, up to 14 cm long and 7 mm wide. Scapes up to 70 cm high, branched with terminal heads. Ray florets 9 mm long, blue or violet. Cypselas 2 mm long. Pappus minute. Stoloniferous perennial. Widespread. Wet places. Fl. spring–summer
