Erect or ascending, annual or biennial herbs, glaucous or with scattered bristly hairs. Lower leaves lyrate. Flowers in racemes arranged in a terminal panicle. Petals usually yellow. Valves of the fruit convex, with a prominent midvein when dry; the lateral veins faint or reticulate; beak with few or no seeds. Seeds almost spherical, in 1 row in each loculus. Cotyledons conduplicate.
