Annual herb 3–70 cm high. Leaves stem clasping, ovate to broad-lanceolate, 1.5–4.5 cm long, apex with mucronate tip; veins on lamina dark and conspicuous. Flowers yellow-green, in compound umbel with 3 or more rays. Bracts absent. Bracteoles circular. Sepals usually absent. Petals circular. Fruit with 5 ridges, 3–5 mm long, tuberculate. Occasional weed. Introd. from Europe. Fl. spring-summer
