Cauline leaves 3 or more, reducing only slightly towards top of stem. Leaf segments 1–4 pairs. Basal rosette usually not persisting. Fruit 10–30 mm long, usually with spreading stalk. Annual herb up to 30 cm high with tap and fibrous roots. Widespread in damp places on better soils. Fl. summer
