Tall shrub or small tree with long drooping branches. Leaflets lanceolate, 1–2 cm long, glaucous above, pubescent below. Flowers in umbels mostly at the ends of short branchlets. Calyx tubular, 10–12 mm long, 2-lipped, densely pubescent; teeth conspicuous. Corolla white; standard c. twice as long as the calyx. Legume 4–5 cm long, c. 12 mm wide. Occasionally naturalized. Introd. from the Canary Islands (Teneriffe). Fl. winter–spring. Tree Lucerne or Tagasaste
