Twining or prostrate, perennial herbs. Leaves entire or toothed lobed or divided. Flowers solitary or in pairs on axillary peduncles. Bracteoles minute, distant from the calyx. Corolla campanulate, entire or angular. Style filiform, with 2 elongated stigmatic lobes. Ovary 2-locular with 2 ovules per loculus. Fruit a capsule, 2-locular, seed 3–4 mm long.
