Shrubs. Leaves modified into phyllodes, alternate, simple, entire, rigid, rarely reduced to minute scales; stipules minute or absent. Flowers solitary or in small usually axillary clusters or racemes or corymbs or umbels; bracts ± conspicuous. Bracteoles absent. Calyx lobes short, the upper 2 often connate. Corolla yellowish, usually with a dark red centre; standard broad, emarginate. Ovary glabrous, shortly stipitate. Ovules 2. Legume oblique, triangular.
