Branches, especially the young shoots, covered with silky white hairs. Leaves terete, 7–12 mm long, not keeled, not twisted, glabrous or slightly hairy. Flowers solitary or in pairs, sometimes appearing terminal but becoming infra-terminal by rapid growth of the stem apex. Calyx hairy or almost glabrous; upper 2 lobes connate more than half way, scarcely falcate. Erect shrub up to 1 m high. Higher Blue Mts DSF. Fl. spring.
