Erect or ascending herb up to 25 cm high. Leaves opposite, narrow-elliptic to narrow-oblong, 2–5 cm long, pubescent, acute, entire, almost sessile. Flowers bisexual, in interrupted spikes terminal on naked scapes. Bracts brown to dark grey, subtending the woolly flowers. Cumberland Plain. Introd. from S. America
