Erect, dioecious herb slightly woody at the base, or undershrub, up to 60 cm high. Leaves linear to narrow-oblong, up to 4 cm long, glabrous. Flowers in spikes. Male flowers with 9–12 stamens. Female flowers with a 2-carpellary ovary. Nepean and George’s Rivers area. Locally common after fire
