Leaves linear-terete, channeled on the upper surface, 8–15 mm long, c. 1 mm wide. Flowers in the axils of the upper leaves, sessile or on short peduncles; bracteoles linear, shorter than the calyx. Calyx 4–5 mm long; the teeth longer than the tube. Corolla 8–10 mm long. Erect, slender shrub up to 2 m high. Widespread. DSF and heath. Sandy soils. Fl. spring–summer
