Shrubs. Indumentum of various simple hairs on most surfaces. Leaves alternate, simple, linear to oblong-elliptic, the lower ones (or all) sometimes ovate; margins recurved; stipules present but often caducous, rarely absent. Flowers in axillary clusters or very short racemes. Calyx densely hairy. Corolla blue to purplish. Stamens connate into a sheath. Ovules usually 2. Legumes turgid, globular or obliquely ovoid, 8–12 mm long.
