Perennial herb or subshrub to 1 m high. Stems with hairs in vertical bands. Leaves ovate to lanceolate 3–13 cm long, 1.5–9 cm wide, margins entire; petiole to 6 cm long. Inflorescence axillary, flowers to 3.5 cm long, pink to purple, a white central band on upper lib with purple markings. Capsule 8–12 mm long, glabrous. Occasional garden escape. Cumberland Plain. Fl. winter
