denticulataShrub c. 1 m high. Leaves ovate to lanceolate, up to 13 cm long, softly tomentose on undersurface but less so on upper surface, dentate. Flowers bisexual, in leaf-opposed cymes; bracteoles absent. Calyx tomentose, pink drying bluish, c. 5 mm long. Petals absent. Stamens 5, connate into a short tube with the 5 alternating staminodes. Colo River district. Open forests. Fl. spring–early summer
