Leaves cordate at the base, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, 1–10 cm long. The leaves are often shorter than in var. ferrugineum but the leaf margins, inflorescence and flowers are similar. Erect or diffuse shrub up to 1 m high. Blue Mts Sandy soils. Fl. spring
