Leaves ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, usually 5–10 cm long, 10–40 mm wide. Cymes short or almost capitate, reflexed, densely rusty tomentose. Calyx lobes 6–8 mm long, glabrous inside; rusty tomentose on the outside. Bracteoles lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate. Ovary sometimes 4-locular. Erect shrub 1–2 m high. Probably widespread but not common. Open forests. Fl. spring
