Climbing annual herb. Inflorescence 5–10 cm long with mostly 1–3 flowers. Leaves 2-foliate. Stipules 1.2–2.5 cm long. leaflets lanceolate to ovate, 2–8 cm long, 3–20 mm wide. Corolla pale pink to purple, 2–3 cm long; calyx 8–12 mm long. Legume 6–10 cm long with 6–10 seeds. Occasionally naturalized. Native of Mediterranean. Fl. summer
