Weak herb, creeping, rooting at the nodes. Leaves (reduced to phyllodes) 3–30 cm long, cylindrical, septate. Umbels simple, 2–4-flowered, on slender peduncles arising at the nodes. Involucral bracts few, minute. Pedicels filiform, 2–4 mm long. Fruit ovoid-oblong, contracted towards the base, 2–3 mm long. Widespread. Margins or lagoons and streams. Fl. summer
