Low shrubs with sessile crowded lanceolate or narrow-lanceolate leaves. Flowers axillary, solitary, with several bracts passing into sepals. Corolla tube short, broad, with 5 glandular scales inside alternating with stamens; lobes longer than the tube. Fruit drupaceous, usually nearly globular.
