Erect, bushy, quick-growing, perennial herb up to 1 m high. Leaves opposite, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, entire. Perianth funnel-shaped, with a long tube, white and varying shades of red and yellow, with a strong odour at night, opening in cloudy weather or late in the afternoon. Garden escape near habitation.
