Four stamens inserted near the mouth of the corolla tube; one stamen usually inserted in the lower half of the corolla tube, its anther always 4–5 mm below the other anthers. Cauline leaves mostly petiolate, ovate to elliptic, up to 15 cm long. Stems not viscid, usually only slightly pubescent. Widespread. Sheltered situations; creek banks. Fl. spring–summer.
