Stems with a few long or short hairs or almost glabrous towards the base. Leaves linear to narrow-ovate, ± pubescent, 2–6 cm long, sinuate to almost flat at the margin, obscurely dentate to almost entire. Flowers 2–4 cm diam. Capsule cylindrical, tapering towards the base, 2–3 cm long. Seeds angular. Widespread. In disturbed ground. Introd. from S. America. Fl. most of the year (O. stricta hybridizes with O. indecora ssp. bonariensis)
