Stipules conspicuous, truncate, usually glabrous except for the ciliate margins. Capsule usually more than 10 mm long. Very variable stoloniferous herb with or without a swollen taproot. Widespread. Weed in gardens and pastures. Probably introd. from Europe. Fl. spring–autumn
