Twinning herb. Leaves alternate, 3 leaflets. Leaflets usually lobed, ovate to rhombic, 7–15 cm long, 5–13 cm wide, sparsely covered with appressed to spreading hairs; upper surface green lower surface grey-green. Stipules peltate, 8–16 mm long. Inflorescence axillary raceme, with 4–90 flowers. Calyx 5–12 mm long. Corolla 12–18 mm long, pink, purple or blue; standard with a yellow spot at base. Legume covered with rusty hairs, 5–9 mm long. Recorded in Picton area. Native of China and Japan. Noxious weed. Fl. summer. Kudzu
