Annual or biennial herbs. Lower leaves lyrate. Flowers in terminal multiple racemes. Petals white or pale yellow with violet veins. Fruit long, cylindrical, thick ± constricted between the seeds when dry, breaking into 1 seeded articles; beak long, conical. Seeds separated by a pithy substance in the fruit. Cotyledons conduplicate.
