Shrub to 10 m high. Leaves elliptic, 10–17 cm long, 3.5–4.5 cm wide, margins entire. Inflorescence terminal with 5–20 flowers. Corolla pink-purple, campanulate, pubescent inside towards the base, 2.5–5 cm long, upper lobes with orange spots. Stamens filaments pink with white hairs. Ovary 5-locular, glabrous, style 3–4 cm long. Capsule 1.5–3 cm long. Blue Mts Introd. from Asia. Fl. spring
