Erect to decumbent shrubs with prominent leaf-scars. Leaves ovate to elliptic, 3–5-veined, shortly petiolate. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils forming leafy inflorescences towards the ends of the branches. Corolla glabrous; tube much shorter than the sepals; lobes spreading, imbricate in the bud. Filaments inserted at the base of the corolla tube; anthers dehiscing by a short apical slit. Style exserted from the corolla tube.
