Perennial herb with fibrous roots. Stems numerous up to c. 5 cm high, often rooting at the nodes, forming a mat; some stems without flowers at flowering stage. Flowers solitary, terminal; pedicels curved after flowering. Leaves 10–15 mm long, shortly awned. Widespread. Weed in gardens and pastures. Introd. from Europe. Fl. spring–summer. Procumbent Pearlwort
