Shrubs, young branches white or rusty tomentose. Leaves alternate, undersurface greyish with stellate hairs; stipules , membranous. Flowers sessile, arranged in loose or dense compound cymes, white, hairy. Sepals 5. Petals 5, hooded. Floral disc glabrous, fused to the floral tube forming a notched projection adjacent to the staminal filaments. Stamens 5. Ovary inferior. Style entire or shortly 3-lobed. Capsule enclosed in the floral tube with sepals persistent.
