Deciduous tree to 5 m high; branchlets glabrous; dioecious. Leaves, alternate, 10–30 cm long; petiole 3–10 cm long. Leaflets, opposite, 9–15, lanceolate to ovate 5–9 cm long, 15–30 mm wide; upper and lower surface glabrous. Inflorescence a panicle, flowers yellow-green, 5-merous. Stamens 5 inserted below disk. Ovary 1-locular. Fruit globose and laterally compressed 6–10 mm long, whitish. Occasionally naturalized. Introd. from E. Asia. Rhus Tree (a noxious weed in NSW, poisonous)
