Perennial with long prostrate stems rooting and forming stolons. Leaves opposite, ovate, shining, 2–5 cm long, broad at the base, petiolate. Flowers solitary, 4–5 cm diam., axillary. Calyx 12–15 mm long, with 5 linear segments. Corolla blue, 4–5 cm diam.; tube slightly longer than the calyx; the lobes broad, spreading. Stamens enclosed in the corolla tube. Carpels 2, distinct.
