Capsule more than twice as long as broad, elongated-obconic, 4–12.5 mm long. Leaves obovate to oblanceolate, up to 80 mm long, 1–6 mm wide, mostly acute, glabrous or slightly hirsute. Corolla lobes 2–9 mm long. Tufted perennial up to 80 cm high, with few stems from the base but branching above. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands. Fl. most of the year.
