Flowers usually 2–6 per cluster, rarely 8 Bracteoles extending beyond the perianth, persisting after the flower opens. Style recurved. Leaves opposite, triangular in cross-section, 5–12 mm long. Flowers 2–4 or rarely 6 per cluster
