Involucral bracts with cottony-woolly ciliate margins; involucre c. 18–15 mm diam. Pappus 5–6 mm long, connate into a ring at the base. Leaves lanceolate to linear, up to 4 cm long, glabrous on the upper surface, cottony underneath. Perennial herb up to 25 cm high. Higher altitudes in the west of the area. Grasslands and forests.
