Erect shrubs, densely stellate-tomentose on all the parts except the older branches and upper surfaces of mature leaves. Flowers solitary or in axillary or terminal clusters. Petals valvate, cream-yellow or white, tomentose outside. Sepals minute, hidden beneath the stellate hairs. Stamens 10. Ovary 5-lobed, densely tomentose; stigma large, peltate. Fruiting carpels truncate, with an incurved beak.
