Lateral lobes of the lemma tapering gradually into the bristles. Thickening of the lemma less distinctly differentiated from the rest of the lemma. Spikelets with 4–7 florets. Glumes 8–13 mm long. Panicle up to 7 cm long. Tufted perennial up to 80 cm high. Blue Mts, Wentworth Falls. Forests. Fl. spring–summer
