Spikelets with several florets, compressed, disarticulating above the glumes, pedicellate. Glumes subequal, rounded on the backs, awnless. Lemmas rounded on the back, becoming successively smaller towards the apex of the spikelets. Ligule long, scarious or hyaline. Glabrous annuals.
