Weak, procumbent, ascending herb, with stems rooting at the nodes, glabrous or nearly so.Leaves with sheathing base. Flowers enclosed in a folded green spathe; spathe cordate at the base, with rounded auricles, obliquely ovate-acuminate in side view. Peduncles in pairs in the spathe; one usually with a single flower; the other with 2–3 flowers.
