Plant 5–27 cm high. Leaf solitary, reniform to orbicular, 15–40 mm long; upper surface greyish; lower surface crystalline. Flowers 1–8, sessile, reddish-brown or rarely yellowish-green, 9–15 mm long. Sepals and petals almost equal in length. Labellum entire to denticulate, with 2 basal calli and 2 longitudinal ridges. Petals spreading or curving downwards. Column slender, c. 5 mm long. Widespread. Chiefly sandy soils. Fl. June–Oct. Mosquito Orchid
