Shrubs or small trees. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to ovate, penniveined, closely dotted with oil glands. Flowers 4–5-merous, in axillary racemes. Floral tube scarcely produced above the ovary. Petals free. Stamens numerous, free. Fruit a red berry crowned by the persistent sepals and divided by a false-septum. North from Gosford area. RF. Fl. autumn
