Digitaria diffusa Vickery

Decumbent perennial up to 40 cm high. Culms rooting at the lower nodes. Spikelets 1.5–2 mm long. Lower glume up to a quarter as long as the spikelet; upper glume c. as long as the spikelet. Fertile lemmas dark brown to almost black. Racemes 2–7, 3–7 cm long, on a common axis 3–5 cm long. Widespread. Open forests and woodlands. Fl. summer
