Spikelets with several florets, disarticulating above the glumes, flat, imbricate in 2 rows along one side of the digitate or subdigitate branches of the rhachis. Glumes spreading, unequal, acute or mucronate. Lemmas less acute, shorter; the terminal one empty or rudimentary. Palea folded.
