Leaves less than 3 mm wide, erect or ascending, oblong-elliptic to lanceolate or broad-linear, 5–12 mm long. Flowers axillary, usually in long one-sided terminal leafy racemes. Corolla tube creamy white, slightly exceeding the sepals, 4–8 mm long, cylindrical or slightly campanulate. Erect shrub up to 1.50 m high. Widespread. Chiefly in swampy sandy soils. Fl. spring–summer
