Tufted perennial up to 60 cm high. Leaf blades inrolled, up to 3 mm wide; ligule a row of hairs. Spikelets with 2 florets, awnless, gaping, in a panicle 3–5 cm long and c. 1 cm wide; rhachilla disarticulating above the glumes. Coast near Sydney; Royal National Park. Damp sandy soils. Fl. summer
