Eucalyptus acmenoides
Leaves thin, undulate (at least when dry), distinctly paler on the under surface, 8–10 x 1–3 cm; lateral veins ± parallel; angle 50–65°. Tree up to 20 m high, with a straight trunk. Bark rough throughout, stringy or flaky on old trees. Umbels mostly 7–11-flowered; peduncles angular or compressed, 10–15 mm long, c. 2 mm wide. Operculum conical-acute or hemispherical, beaked, c. as long as the floral tube. Fruit hemispherical ovoid-truncate or globular, 5–6 x 6–7 mm, pedicellate; disc flat, usually narrow, slightly convex or depressed; valves enclosed or their tips slightly exserted. Sydney district and northwards. Forests, usually on better soils. WS, rarely on dry hillsides. Fl. early summer. White Mahogany
