Plants to 50 cm high. Leaves fleshy, lanceolate, 1–1.5 m long, 7–16 cm wide, margins entire or toothed, apex with brown spine. Inflorescence 2–6 m high, flowers greenish, white on inside, 3–4 cm long. Bulbils developing on inflorescences branches after flowering. Garden escape on Sydney foreshores. Intod. from America.
